K-pop Idol Age Calculator 아이돌 나이
Settle the argument. Type an idol's name and get their international age, Korean age and years since debut, plus where they sit in the group's age line.
Why fandom ages never match
Korean fan cafés and older profile sites list Korean age: you are one at birth and everyone ages together on 1 January. So a member born in December 2005 is "twenty-two" in Korea in 2026 while their passport says twenty. Since June 2023 the law uses international age and agencies mostly follow, but a decade of wiki edits does not update itself. When two sources disagree by one or two years, this is why.
Debut years count from the group's debut date, not the member's birthday, which is how Korean media counts anniversaries.
The age line matters
In a Korean group the oldest member (맏형 or 맏언니) and the youngest (막내, maknae) are real roles. The oldest looks after everyone and usually pays. The maknae gets babied on camera and does the pouring off camera. Members born in the same year speak casually to each other; one year apart and the honorifics come out. Watch a variety show with this in mind and half the jokes make sense.
